This ailment can be caused by a great deal of coldness by staying for prolonged periods in water causing cramps of the muscles and thereby causing lameness of feet and hands. The intake of poison to the body thereby causing inflammation of the brain, can also cause lamensess. Also it is possible according to spiritualism, that lamensess of hands and feet and fingers can be caused by charms. Strokes and disfigurement of mouth are special feature of kora(lameness) sanniya. The mask depicts cramps of muscles, severe chills, lameness of hands and feet, effects of strokes, disfigurement of the mouth.
