Once a swampy bog which was renovated by the said governor, at present is a great spot to relax and spend some quality time with family and friends with the numerous activities and a massive park that lies adjoining it. Spanning over 200 acres Lake Gregory and its surrounding area is a perfect venue to enjoy a few water activities in the central highlands of Nuwara Eliya.

The park area also serves as a great place for families to enjoy picnics. There are boats and jet skis that are available to hire for a fee while if you are good at it, you can enjoy some windsurfing too. You will see many ponies trotting along the grassy areas of the park as well where most visitors enjoy pony rides too. The park also has many food stalls and shaded areas for visitors to sit and relax. There is also a sea plane landing jetty on Lake Gregory as well.
